Karena Anda menggunakan CentOS 5, default manajer paket adalah yum, tidak apt-get. Untuk menginstal program yang menggunakannya, Anda biasanya menggunakan perintah berikut:

Namun, ketika mencoba menginstal git dengan cara ini, Anda akan menemukan kesalahan berikut pada CentOS 5:

Itu memalukan :( Jika ada yang tahu di tempat lain di mana rpm itu dapat diperoleh maka akan bagus untuk memperbarui jawabannya, meskipun CentOS 6 sudah ada sejak 2011 dan git tersedia di repositori default ini semoga akan menjadi kurang dan kurang masalah bagi orang-orang dari waktu ke waktu
